About the Project
Traditional Tunisian Dar
An interior design that evokes the traditional Tunisian dar in all its authentic detail. An arcade of marble columns and arches wraps the central courtyard, with white walls topped by carved-plaster ornament and dressed below in colorful geometric tilework.
The reception room centers on a horseshoe arch with alternating black-and-white voussoirs, flanked by niches displaying brass pieces, beneath a hand-painted wooden ceiling hung with brass lanterns. Traditional banquette seating along the walls, an engraved brass table, and blue doors and windows opening onto the courtyard complete the atmosphere.
